The leading causes of death in the industrialized world today are cardiovascular disease, infection, cancer, and pulmonary disease. They all have one thing in common: the involvement of the patient’s vasculature in disease formation and progression. All of these diseases are accompanied, and often preceded, by changes in a patient’s blood vessels.

VBS Interventional has created the world’s first endoarterial biopsy catheter, a device designed to obtain biopsy specimens from the inner layers of an artery via a minimally invasive technique. The endoarterial biopsy catheter will provide physicians with the ability to percutaneously obtain biopsy specimens from the inner layers of the arterial wall.

These biopsy specimens will provide a more comprehensive picture of a patient’s vascular pathological, cellular, molecular, and genetic profile.
